I'm Addicted to Quests!

I am addicted to quests.

It's true. Computer games with role-playing, economy, and quests are my weakness.

I try to steer clear of them because I'm such a fanatic and once I start I have to conquer or I can't seem to be happy.

The last questing game I was addicted to was one such game that was complex, full of money problems, economy issues, war, and damsels in distress and I LOVED IT!

Knowing My Weakness I Asked God To...

Yes, although I feel compelled to finish the game I am self aware enough to know when it's inviting a spirit of Idleness.. and when the game calls me at all hours of the day at the expense of my children and home I can clearly see an unbalance in priorities!

So I got down on my knees and prayed for help.
I specifically asked him to help me stop playing the game. No excuses. No cravings. Please just help me to stop!

Deleted Completely.

You think I'm going to tell you that I deleted the game from my computer, huh?

Well, I didn't.

However, the next day when I found myself driven to complete the next quest I tried to open the game file and it was completely gone.

Yes. In answer to my prayer a miracle had occurred and the temptation was completely removed from my life. (Thank Heaven!)

Provinces, Order, and Experience.

Before you can fully understand the lesson that I was taught by this experience I have to explain a little bit about this game.

It was a kingdom game where I was expected to conquer, or ally with all of the provinces on the map, bring order, and gain experience through the quests that popped up along the way.

Some quests had a time limit, and some I could get to when I felt ready.

Some quests were designed to maintain order, and others were to make my character grow in experience and level so that I could then conquer quests that a lower level Knight would not be able to achieve.

My Home, a Map in Itself.

After the game was deleted and I was free to get a clear head I realized that I didn't feel the way I should about real life quests.

As a woman, mother, wife, and home-maker my stewardships include a fairly long list of quests...daily.

Some are to maintain order.

Others give me experience so that I can be ready to be a tool in the Lord's hands when he chooses to give me a higher level quest.

So I made a list of my quests.

  • "Conquer the mudroom" (The catch all of all messes in my house, the laundry room, and where the pantry resides. It was a huge mess.)

  • "Establish Order, and Maintain it."

  • "Conquer the Kitchen"

  • Etc.

Each room of my home is a "province" on the map of my home. Each presents a different challenge and each room has a different use to maintain the "economy" of my home.

Little Quests for Big Experience.

The experience quests inside my home (and outside of my home, but for the purpose of illustrating my point let's just keep to inside.) proved to be harder to see.

In the game, the experience quests required more thought, more wisdom, and more time.

Teaching my children to work, and to get along, and to obey require the same skills.

In the game I could "Order" my subjects to do certain things. I could be a tyrant, or a righteous leader. How I chose to lead, the words and tones I chose to use, determined whether or not rebellions would pop up that I would have to deal with and which took me away from my more important tasks.

"Will You Please..."

I learned that I can get my children to do just about anything for me, with love and devotion...and to THANK me for asking them to do it (amazing, I know. But it's true.) if I simply ask like this:

"(Child's name) Will you please help me do the dishes?"

"Yes Mommy." Big hug and a desire to go the EXTRA MILE because it makes them HAPPY!

Order AND Experience. Imagine that. With one simple, humbly put question... instead of a hard order. (The key is the word "Will")

Even my (now) 15 month old responds to this show of respect.

They KNOW! Their spirits know what is right.
They know they have the choice and they will make their own... either way.

Generally, because they are untrained they'll make the opposite choice of what they feel they are "ordered", or forced to do.

Human nature, right?

I challenge all women to take up their "Excalibur", and go forth to conquer this game that is life.
This is exciting! It's not mundane!

Our quests as women are important to maintaining order and peace. Only we have the power to effect it.

I dub thee "Woman".
Go forth and bring Honor to thy name.

Mother's Lounge on Bronwenlise.com

Hello my loyal readers! I have an announcement that I'm very excited about!

I have recently launched "The Mother's Lounge" where moms (and our masculine counterparts) can come and share what they recommend, and take others up on their recommendations.

This is inspired by the Mother's Lounge at my church where all the nursing mommies go to feed their babies. We all sit around chatting about what we think is good. I LOVE doing this in this non-threatening way.

You're invited! Come and share, and shop, and chat!

The Journey Weaver Life Coach. Life Coach For Moms!

This will be a quick post, I just want to make sure that all the moms out there know that the Journey Weaver Life Coach, Kimberly Powell is coming out with a Mom Workshop.

I have permission to offer the two discounts that you see above. You can't get them anywhere else!

Check her out and make sure you mention that I sent you!

Build a Website. Not as easy as it looks.

So you want to build a website?

When I first got started in online marketing I tried 3 different website services to try to build my website and get things up and running as smoothly and easily as I could.

I found that there is quite a learning curve for running an online business, and I found that the best way was SBI!.

To shorten your learning curve I'm writing this "How To" page. But it's more of a high recommendation to save you a huge headache.

The Best Way.

Yes, there are easier ways to build a Web site. However, online profits require more than just having a collection of Web pages. SBI! includes all the tools and a proven process required to build a long-term, profitable e-business.

Not a techy?

SBI! removes the technical barriers allowing you to keep your attention on building your business. Many functions are completely automated. You don't need to know anything upfront about building a Web site in order to succeed. The tedious, "under-the-hood" stuff is handled automatically so you can focus on other important business-building activities.

I really like this about this system. I appreciate not having to use multiple tools to track the stats on my website. Spending too much time tracking is "pencil organizing" and it takes your precious time away from what's really important to generating a profit.

Customer Support.

SBI! comes with unlimited Customer Support. SBI! owners often call it the best they've ever experienced. And the SBI! Forums complete the picture. They are the most friendly, help-and-be-helped set of e-business forums in the world.

What to do? What to do?

Choosing your best site concept when you first start to build a website is not always as obvious as you might think. Brainstorm It! and Niche Choose It! show you the best path for your particular business, reveal some surprises, and help you make the right choice.

Diversify or Die.

Monetize It! helps you choose the best monetization options for your site concept. Creating a diverse monetization mix will help you maximize your site's profitability and ensure long-term growth.

Walking you through creating your pages as you build your website.

Page creation is as simple as riding a bike with its training wheels still attached.

No need to know HTML.

The block-by-block builder trains you how to write a page that is both "Search Engine and human effective." It's simple, do-able and most importantly, effective site-building. The block-by-block builder is perfect for beginners, but even many "advanced" users should start with this tool. It's an excellent way to break bad habits!

Fast, reliable, state-of-the-Net Web site hosting is all included with SBI!. You don't have to worry about choosing the right "hosting" features (size, capacity, etc.). Web hosting is included, no nonsense, no hidden clauses.

Getting it right the first time.

You learn to "get it right" quickly (or correct bad habits) so you can focus on other traffic-building strategies. (These are also easily mastered due to "automation-and-process.")

Search Engine spider/listing/ranking reports let you see how your pages are being handled by the Search Engines. You can see what pages rank best and drive traffic. Each report's insights help you to determine how to increase traffic and monetization. Most pros don't have easy and reliable access to this type of information.

What are your visitors into?

Traffic Stats and Click Analysis help you understand what your visitors like most. Understanding them helps you know what to write about, which in turn leads to more and more business.

Build a website to get customers to return.

List-building and e-mail marketing are included (usually these expensive features are bought separately). Sign up visitors to your e-zine subscription list and then mail an issue to them. This repeat exposure builds a stronger bond with your visitors and allows for direct promotions to them. Deeper PREselling = More Monetization.

Build a website that can automatically be your blog.

Automatic site blogging turns your site into a blog easily. You'll enjoy all the benefits of a blog without needing extra skills or additional software. For those experienced with blogging, auto-pinging for your SBI! blog keeps your site on the Search Engines' radar. All of this helps attract more traffic.

Build a website with a Guarantee.

SBI! has a no-risk, 30-day money back guarantee. It's a risk-free decision that you can make with confidence and peace of mind.

Updates Continuously.

New tools are added continuously so you can feel secure that you'll always have the most up-to-date site-building and marketing tools.

A Great Reputation.

SiteSell.com was established by Dr. Ken Evoy in 1997. His series of books have helped hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs and small businesses. Make Your Content PREsell! and Make Your Words Sell!, formerly books sold by SiteSell, are now free. They are literally the dynamic duo of "Web-writing."

Dr. Evoy realized that the average business person needs more than some information in books, no matter how good. S/he needs both the C T P M process and an all-in-one Web site hosting, building and marketing suite of tools that enables them to execute the process flawlessly. To this day, SBI! is unique.

Build a website with SBI! and get out there and have fun with it!

Talk to you soon!

Magnificent Monday! Oct. 26, 09 through Nov. 1, 09

Welcome to this week's Magnificent Monday blog comment contest.

This week I'm feeling philosophical.

Yesterday at church I was asked to help with a lesson on being of good cheer. It's on my mind now.

I shared a story about how I learned from my son to let the little things go. Here's the story:

The other day we were playing pac-man together while the girls napped.

Anyone who knows pac-man knows that you get three men to start with, and then at 10k points you get an extra man.

Well, my son was taking his turn and he lost a man, then another, then right before he lost his last man we heard the "ding ding ding ding" letting us know that he had just earned his fourth man.

As his third man circled as a result of being caught by a ghost he said, "Awe man!" Then shrugged and smiled "Oh well, at least I got my extra man!"

He was happy regardless.

It was a good example to me of being of good cheer even when the chips are down. I was touched.

I'd love to hear your stories like this. It can be simple or elaborate. Let's hear it.

Talk to you soon.

Knock off the Bugging Already. *wink*

video

"MLM Home Business Owners Can Say Goodbye to Bugging their Friends and Family"...

How many times have you heard that?!

Well, a lot of people are saying it. It's better for business owners of any kind to get out there and generate their own leads. It's just simply smart business. But how does this effect you as a work at home mom with a network marketing venture?

Pretty profoundly actually.

When I first got started at home I would spend up to 7 hours per day (mostly 7 hours and sometimes more) on the phone sifting through my warm market list trying (more like begging) to get people to come to a meeting, or to be my customer.

It was painful, and I don't recommend it.

I'll never go back to that way of generating leads. In fact, I've said goodbye to all of my upline trainings, and all of the team calls, and all of the other things that use to waste my time. Now I spend my time working on what actually needs to be done in order to generate the lead.

What is a good MLM Lead?

Well, it's a human being to start with. A potential business partner. But this wonderful person isn't just random. This person found you, likes you, and wants to hear from you. Most of the time, this person will call you first. Your job is to make yourself easy to find, like, and contact.

So, the video above is an invitation to come and get some free training on how to accomplish that.

Network marketing doesn't have to be painful.

It should be like running a reputable business. One where you don't have to beg, or trick anyone to do something for you in order to get some money into your pocket.

Come and learn what I mean.

(And you know I'm here to help you! Even if I do only work 2 hours per day!)

I'm Mrs. Dreamseed. You Belong With Me.

I fixed the problems with this video.
You're still officially invited to come and work with me...at home...and see how you can really make it work for your family.

MLM Moms Balancing On the Teeter Totter of Family and Home Business

Moms all over the world are finding that Mlm is the only way for them to quickly and easily be able to work from home as a home business owner, without the headaches of running a traditional business.

As an Mlm Moms myself I've found that every day I feel like I'm balancing on a teeter totter. Successful business, happy family (including a tidy and deep cleaned home). At first I couldn't see how I could have both.

I'm sure as an Mlmer yourself you've felt what I'm describing. Standing in the middle of the teeter totter, one foot on each side, wobbling a bit to try to maintain some balance. Then a big event comes up and suddenly all of your weight goes to the home business side of the teeter totter and your family shoots to the sky wondering what happened to their mom!

It's not easy, but I've found that it's worth it. And I've also found a way to show you how to balance a little (did I say a little...I mean, a lot) easier on that little teeter totter of yours.

The events are fun, albeit expensive and time consuming, and not always worth it. Yes, they pump you up and you learn some of the things that your company of choice is coming out with to benefit you as a network marketer. But think about it from the teeter totter standpoint and tell me if the events are important enough to sacrifice your family for?

We have heard it a million times from our upline: "If you go to this event you'll be successful".

Gag me! It's a lie. You can get excited sitting at home at your computer. You can also learn about the new stuff coming out from your company online at your cookie cutter website.

This lie bothers me because they ask you to go into debt for a party and tell you that just by being at the party you'll be a success.

I'm sorry ladies, but going to the event will not prosper you. Taking action will, and using the right tools to take action will.

So first find balance by staying at home. (Remember that if you like these fun events then you should still go. But just for the fun of it. For the "getting out" element. Not because you believe that going is the source of all of your future success.)

Next, find balance by using tools to put it on auto-pilot.

Now, to be fair, 100% auto-pilot is not really the smartest thing. In fact, I haven't seen it actually be true that something can be on 100% auto-pilot.

But I have seen 80% and even 90% auto-pilot. And that's what I want to recommend to you.

Tools are required, but I can save your life (I mean, your budget) there too.

When I first got started I got talked into spending over $200 per month just for my tools. These were tools with a monthly ding, and I was hurting because I wasn't replacing the funds fast enough. Pretty soon I was in some pretty massive debt.

The tools that I recommend to you are pretty basic. One of them costs just under $50 per month, and the other is just under $20. Wrap your phone bill (unlimited LD I hope!) and your internet bill in there and you should be good to go. Write it off on your taxes.

The first tool is at easymlmleadtraining.com and you can get some training at no cost. I hope you will really go to school with this training because it's free even if you don't use the $50 tool. Free is GOOD. But I still recommend the tool because in essence it's everything that I'm talking about. Auto-pilot.

These tools is designed to capture the highly qualified lead for you (all you have to do is get people to the page and It will sift and sort for you.) and then train them (with your optional mentorship) for you.

I don't know about you but when I was running my MLM manually I was spending a LOT of time training people one on one. My family started telling me I was always on the phone...and they even started to get mad at me for it. It was pretty stressful. I enjoyed helping people, but not to the extent that my family was that unhappy.

Motherhood should come first for any mom. It's important. We don't just give birth and then we're off the hook! (right?) We've got some kids to raise and teach and we want them to know that they are important to us.

So when it comes to MLM I'm highly recommending using some tools. Just take care because there are a lot of people out there who will take advantage of your newness to the idea and ask you to spend hundred, even thousands of dollars on tools that you don't need...and if you do want them later, you don't need them yet. There is a learning curve on all of this.

The final thing that goes with all of this balancing is to manage your schedule. I work only 2-3 hours per day. If you use me as your mentor I'll show you how to do that too. It's not difficult. I simply set my timer and go to work. When the timer goes off, I'm done for the day. If I didn't get everything I had planned finished then I just pick up where I left off the next day. It's pretty simple.

I think the "to do" list is the hardest thing to figure out. But I can help you with that too.

Now you have a starting point. Have a good time! Enjoy it! You deserve it, Mom.
